Whitfield Clinic icon-arrow

Whitfield Clinic is a private hospital situated in Butlerstown on the outskirts of Waterford City. It opened in 2006 with the aim of improving the health care services available to Waterford and the South East. Since opening its doors, Whitfield has strived to provide the best level of private patient care in the South East region. Whitfield has 60 consultants, 40 private beds, a 24-bed day surgery unit, four operating theatres, an endoscopy suit, and an oncology day ward.

University Hospital Waterford, HSE icon-arrow

University Hospital Waterford provides general medical, surgical and maternity care to people living in South Kilkenny and Waterford City and is the designated cancer centre for the south east. The Hospital provides rapid access assessment for breast, prostate, lung and skin cancers. Cancer surgery is centrallised at UHW, and haematology, medical oncology and palliative care is provided through inpatient and day care facilities.

The National Cancer Control Programme works with health service providers to prevent cancer, treat cancer, and increase survival and quality of life for those who develop cancer, by converting the knowledge gained through research, surveillance and outcome evaluation into strategies and actions.
