Important Covid-19 Information for Patients Receiving Radiotherapy Treatment

If you have respiratory symptoms, cough or shortness of breath, and/or a fever AND have been in Northern Italy*, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, or Iran in the last 14 days, please contact the radiotherapy department at 051-337444 before presenting for treatment.

*Regions in Northern Italy –, Lombardy, Piedmont, Veneto, Emilia –Romagna

 

All Radiotherapy Patients:

Please arrive for your radiotherapy treatment appointment through the Hillman Cancer Centre entrances and NOT via the main hospital entrances. Please perform hand hygiene using the dispensers at the entrance.

Please note that visitors will not be allowed to remain with patients while attending for radiotherapy treatment. Vulnerable patients who require assistance throughout their visit, will be permitted to have one nominated companion. Companions must be prearranged and approved by the radiotherapy staff.

Prevention

  • You should always practice good hand and respiratory hygiene.
  • Hand hygiene and respiratory hygiene are a series of actions to take that are designed to reduce the spread of infectious diseases, including COVID-19, to yourself and others.
  • These actions include regular handwashing and covering your mouth and nose with a tissue or the bend of your elbow when you cough or sneeze.
